Domestic Electricians in Johnstone, Paisley & Glasgow
The engineers who look after schools, offices and commercial kitchens across the Central Belt also work in homes and rental properties closer to our Renfrewshire base. That means you get the same standard of workmanship, testing and paperwork we deliver on commercial projects, applied to your house or flat.
Every job is carried out by our qualified engineers, and every installation is certified to BS 7671.

Full & Partial Rewires
Wiring does not last forever. Many homes in and around Glasgow still have installations dating back several decades, and older wiring can deteriorate, overheat or simply fail to cope with the number of appliances a modern household uses.
Signs that a property may need rewiring include old fuse boxes with rewireable fuses, rubber or fabric covered cables, round pin sockets, scorch marks, sockets that feel warm and circuits that trip regularly. If you are not sure, an EICR will give you a clear picture of the installation's condition before you commit to anything.
A full rewire replaces all the cabling, accessories and the consumer unit, while a partial rewire focuses on the circuits or rooms that need it most. We plan the work carefully to limit disruption, chasing walls neatly, protecting floors and furniture, and restoring power at the end of each working day wherever possible, so most people can stay in their home throughout. Tenement flats and older properties with ornate plasterwork and cornicing need particular care, and we route cables to protect original features wherever we can.

Consumer Unit Upgrades
The consumer unit, often called the fuse board, is the heart of your home's electrical system. Older boards frequently lack RCD protection, which is designed to cut the power within a fraction of a second if someone touches a live part or a fault develops.
Modern consumer units are housed in fire resistant metal enclosures, use RCBOs to protect individual circuits, and usually include surge protection to guard your electronics against voltage spikes.
An upgrade is often recommended after an EICR, before a kitchen or bathroom renovation, or when new circuits are being added. Most consumer unit replacements are completed in a single day, and we test every circuit afterwards so you know the whole installation is working safely. If the testing reveals an existing fault, we explain it clearly and give you options before doing any further work.

Kitchens, Bathrooms & New Circuits
Renovations usually mean electrical changes. We install new circuits for cookers, hobs and induction appliances, additional sockets where you actually need them, under cabinet and ceiling lighting, and extractor fans. Bathrooms need particular care because of the added risk from water, so we install lighting, shaver points, electric showers and heated towel rails in line with the zone requirements of BS 7671.
We also add outdoor sockets and lighting for gardens, driveways and outbuildings, using weatherproof fittings and appropriate protection for outdoor circuits. If you are working with a kitchen fitter, bathroom installer or builder, we coordinate with them so the electrical first fix and second fix happen at the right stages and nobody is left waiting.

Interlinked Fire Alarms in Scottish Homes
Since February 2022, every home in Scotland has had to meet the same standard for fire and smoke alarms. That means a smoke alarm in the room you use most during the day, a smoke alarm in every hallway and landing, and a heat alarm in the kitchen, all interlinked so that when one sounds, they all sound.
Homes with a carbon fuelled appliance, such as a gas boiler or wood burner, also need a carbon monoxide detector.
We install mains powered and sealed battery interlinked systems, choosing the right option for your property and how much disruption you are prepared to accept. Mains powered alarms are wired in and work with a battery backup, while sealed battery alarms use radio interlinking and avoid running new cables. Either way, we position every alarm correctly and test the whole system before we leave.

Electrical Work for Landlords
Private landlords in Scotland have specific legal duties for electrical safety. Under the Repairing Standard, you need an EICR at least every five years, PAT testing on any appliances you supply, and interlinked fire alarms that meet the current standard. Letting agents and local authorities increasingly check these documents, and gaps can delay new tenancies or lead to enforcement action.
We offer landlords a straightforward package covering all three, with remedial work quoted clearly and carried out by the same team so certificates can be issued without delay. For landlords with several properties, we can schedule inspections to line up with tenancy changes and renewal dates, and supply all certificates digitally so they are easy to forward to your agent. If you also own or manage commercial premises, our commercial electrical team can look after those too.
